WhatsApp detailed new features it will begin releasing this week: improvements to wallpapers, a new way to search stickers and the rollout of the Together at Home sticker pack from the World Health Organization as an animated sticker pack.
The Facebook-owned messaging application introduced custom chat wallpapers, enabling users to make their chats personal and distinguishable.
WhatsApp’s doodle wallpapers will be available in more colors.
A host of new wallpapers are available in the Bright and Dark albums, representing “new, diverse and iconic images of nature and architecture from around the world, as well as eye catching new designs.”
WhatsApp users can now set a separate wallpaper in dark mode.
A new sticker search function enables users to search and find stickers via text and emoji or browse through common categories, and WhatsApp said, “As we start to roll this out, we encourage sticker creators to tag their stickers with emojis and text moving forward, so they become more easily searchable for WhatsApp users.”
Finally, on the animated version of Together at Home, WhatsApp said, “Together at Home has been one of the most popular sticker packs across WhatsApp, and it will now be even more expressive and useful in its animated form.”
