Today, I am going to show you 5 proven strategies to win more subscribers on YouTube (In 2021 and Beyond)
And these strategies actually work.
In fact, these strategies have helped my clients win gazillions of subscribers on YouTube.
Does YouTube really care about the number of subscribers your channel has?
In fact, it is one of the main reasons why YouTube recommends your channel videos to new audiences.
People that succeed in winning more subscribers on YouTube, do two things really well:
First, they identify strategies that get them results
Second, they put 100% of their resources into executing and scaling those strategies.
“How do I find the strategies that actually work?”
Well today I am going to make it easy for you.
Whether you are new to YouTube or a YouTube veteran, I am sure you will get value from my article.
Here are the 5 strategies to follow that will help grow your subscribers on YouTube:
- Turn Your Watermark Into Your Subscribe Button
- Use “The Top Formula” In Your Channel Trailer
- Reply To All Comments
- Distribute Your Winning Videos
- Strong Channel Branding
So let’s Jump straight in:
This strategy is like a cheat code that helps you win new subscribers.
You can definitely add a branded watermark to your YouTube videos.
Watermarks are cool because people can subscribe to your channel without stopping your video or leaving your page.
Most people use watermarks that don’t work.
You are tempted to add a branded watermark to your YouTube video.
But that barely works!
You can grow your subscribers by over 60% just by adding a YouTube subscribe button watermark.
In fact, that’s the goal of your watermark:
To turn viewers into subscribers.
So here’s the deal:
More your watermark looks like a YouTube subscribe button, the more subscribers you will get.
It’s no secret that your channel trailer can turn random viewers into loyal subscribers.
The question is:
How do you create a trailer that actually works?
The TOP Formula!
This is a 3 step formula that helps your channel trailer actually get results.
Here’s how it works:
T (Target Audience):
At this point the viewer isn’t sure if your channel is for him.
That’s why they are watching your channel’s trailer.
You want to start your trailer off by addressing who your target audience is in the first 10 seconds.
Does your channel help people become better online gamers?
Maybe you show people how to get 6 pack abs?
Now is the time to address your target audience directly.
And straight away(literally within 5 seconds) your target audience knows they have found the channel for them.
O (Origin Story):
Next it’s time to tell them your origin story.
Here’s your chance to tell your target audience why you created your YouTube channel.
And make no mistake:
The origin story is tremendously powerful.
Because your origin story helps your channel stand out from the thousands of other channels in your niche. (Especially, if your niche is highly competitive.)
It also helps people relate to you as a person rather than a business.
All the more reason for them to hit the subscribe button.
Finally, cap your trailer off with a pitch to subscribe.
At this point the people watching your trailer are almost ready to hit the subscribe button.
They just need a little push!
So be clear in your CTA:
Ask people to hit the subscribe button on your channel.
In fact, YouTube recommends that you end your trailer, with an explicit ask for viewers to subscribe.
A pro tip:
Don’t end your video here.
Add an end screen with a prominent subscribe button for 5–10 seconds.
Replying to comments can help you get more subscribers.
It’s true. In fact, YouTube states:
When creators take the time to interact authentically with their loyal community, it can encourage audience participation and ultimately result in a larger fanbase.
This is such a simple strategy and most people ignore it.
But if you’ve ever commented on a video, and received a response from a creator, you know how powerful this is.
And the impact doesn’t stop with that one person. When other people see that you reply to comments, they’re also more likely to comment (and subscribe).
This is one of the most effective ways to get more subscribers on YouTube.
Here’s the step-by-step process:
First go to the Channel customization button and login to analytics.
Go to channel reach and click on traffic sources.
Then click on the subscription source and hit the YouTube watch page.
And just like that, you can see which videos create the most subscribers for your channel.
I like to call these videos winners because they are proven to generate an above average amount of subscribers.
And if you can get more viewers to watch these winning videos, you will get more subscribers.
Make a winner video your channel trailer.
This option makes sense if you don’t have a trailer video set up.
Your trailer is the first thing random visitors see when they visit your channel.
In fact, showing your winning video as a trailer can turn out to be a great hack for your channel growth.
You can also make your winning video as the first video in your playlist.
So, whenever someone watches your channel’s playlist they see your winning video straight away.
Give prominence to such playlists on your channel page.
You can also create a specific playlist titled “New Here” and put all your winning videos in that playlist.
It’s that simple to get your winning videos noticed and turn viewers into subscribers.
This is one thing that can skyrocket your channel’s subscriber base.
Fortunately, this is much easier than it sounds.
Most YouTube creators feel:
As long as I am creating awesome videos I don’t need to brand or position my channel.
This is a reason why most channels don’t get off the ground.
If you can brand your channel strategically, your views and subscribers will surge significantly.
Here’s how to do it:
First, write a one line description that makes your channel unique and stand out in your niche.
For example, Foundr Magazine channel’s positioning is:
“Learn From The Greatest Entrepreneurs Of Our Generations”
That way if someone wants to grow his business or start his entrepreneurial journey finds this channel.
They say, Jackpot. And smash the subscribe button!
That’s the power of channel positioning
How about another example:
Nadine Sykora is a traveller that helps give people expert travelling advice and more.
But unlike other travel vloggers Nadine doesn’t only talk about the destination she visits.
Instead, she also gives travel hacks, tips and advice, destination, packing guides and much more.
This way she helps people out who wish to travel to a particular destination without having to invest in a travel guide.
So she created a single sentence that helps her channel stand out from 1001 other travelling focused channels on YouTube:
Travel Advice & Adventures
Once your sentence is ready, plaster it on your channel page and in your videos.
Include the sentence, in your channel art, channel’s about section, your animated logo.
And even say those words in your video.
This will go a long way in creating a loyal fanbase for your channel.
What I shared with you is only the tip of the iceberg.
That said, these strategies can skyrocket your channel’s growth and your fanbase.
Now I turn it over to you.
