NFLPA, Opendorse Share Influencer Hot List of Most Social NFL Players – nitronet


Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. led National Football League players in total engagements on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter from the start of the 2019 season through May 31, 2020, while fellow WR D.K. Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks had the top growth rate among players with at least 100,000 followers, and New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan was the most consistently active player on social media.

The NFL Players Association and social media activation partner Opendorse shared the first installment Wednesday of what will be a new annual NFLPA Influencer Hot List, ranking the most influential and marketable NFL players for brands.

The top 10 NFL players by total engagements on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter were:

  7. Patrick Mahomes II, QB, Kansas City Chiefs
  8. Todd Gurley, running back, Atlanta Falcons
  9. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Dallas Cowboys
  10. Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles

The top players by percentage of new followers (minimum of 100,000) were:

  1. Metcalf
  2. George Kittle, tight end, San Francisco 49ers
  3. Raheem Mostert, RB, 49ers
  4. Darius Leonard, linebacker, Indianapolis Colts
  5. Mahomes
  6. Kyler Murray, QB, Arizona Cardinals
